Matt is a PADI certified dive master who has visited all the best dive sites. Free Ingwe has SCUBA gear on board or you can bring your own. If SCUBA isn't for you, we've got plenty of snorkel gear, a kayak/paddleboard combo, a wakeboard, water skis and a kneeboard. Matt is happy to teach you to sail as well. Grab the helm, hoist the mainsail, or just relax. It's up to you.
It's also great to get off the water in the Virgin Islands. There are a number of fantastic hiking trails available, one of which leads to the famous 'Bubbly Pool'. After your hike, cool off with a Painkiller or Bushwacker at one of the BVI's many beach bars and restaurants.
After a satisfying day you can retire to your cabin for a good night's sleep on one of our new queen sized memory foam mattresses. Each of the 3 cabins is equipped with a head and shower en-suite.
What are you waiting for? Let's go sailing!
I grew up boating, waterskiing and fishing on the Mississippi River in northwestern Illinois. My father was a US Naval officer and he taught me to love and respect the water at an early age. I also inherited my love of travel from him.
I first visited the BVI in 1989 and I knew from that moment that the islands were very special. In the following years, while working as a diesel engine designer, I found myself spending all of my money on travel. So, I switched gears and worked in travel and tourism for the next decade. During that time, I realized that I enjoyed sharing the travel experience as much as the travel itself.
In 2005 I took a crewed yacht charter in the BVI, and that was all it took. I instantly knew that I wanted to share the beauty of the Caribbean with as many people as possible. One year later I moved to the islands to start a career as BVI yacht charter crew.
It's hard to believe that I'm heading into my eighth charter season. After seven years and more than 140 charters, I've found some great little hideaways to go along with the famous tourist spots in the BVI. You'll get a chance to explore both land and sea at your pace, with a built in tour guide to help you make the most of the trip.
I currently hold a USCG 50-ton Master License, and am a PADI certified Divemaster. In my spare time I enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding, SCUBA diving, and hiking the trails in the BVI. I also love playing bartender and tour-guide to those looking for a little adventure.
