Captain Chadwick grew up in Charlotte, NC where he started sailing at age 13 on a Sunfish. From there he progressed to gain his Coast Guard Master's License. During his 21 years of experience he has sailed the East Coast and West Coast of the United States, Canada's Inside Passage, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
In 2001, Chadwick and his girlfriend Wendy spent a year sailing Canada's Inside Passage and the West Coast of the United States and Mexico aboard their boat Cal Amis, a Cal 31. Chadwick enjoys sailing, surfing, snowboarding, rock-climbing, snorkeling and diving.
Chef / Hostess Wendy grew up on a family farm in Kentucky where fresh fruits, vegetables and meats were part of daily living. She learned cooking southern foods from her Grandmother and Mother who were both homemakers and excellent at entertaining and hosting gatherings. She received her Masters Degree in Higher Education, Administration and Supervision and worked for the University of Tennessee and Oklahoma State University for eight years.
Wendy has an eclectic menu that is inspired by her many travels and the areas that she has lived such has Italy, Morocco, the Pacific Northwest, Mexico and the Caribbean. Wendy enjoys sailing, cycling, rock-climbing, back-packing and snorkeling.
We had a great trip. Everything about it was tops. We particularly enjoyed Chad and Wendy, who were very professional but welcoming and relaxed. Perfect mix. Thanks for your help. In essence, we rate them 10 + on everything!
Chad and Wendy are happy, fun people to be around, so to have them as our Captain, Cook / First Mate combination was a holiday in its self. They know their way around a boat so every thing is pre organized and things are being done with out you noticing it.
Aurora is a well appointed catamaran. Chad and Wendy keep it fresh, well ventilated and clean. Wendy's galley should have a star, she is a natural, we asked for food to be light and tasty and that's what we got; nothing was too much trouble.
