Her magnificent fly-bridge design creates an unusually large area for living, dining and relaxing. Akasha and her full-time crew of four will sail you around the beautiful islands of the Caribbean, providing you with the holiday experience of a lifetime, whatever your charter requirements.

Akasha has been designed to meet the exacting requirements of her owner in terms of space, luxury and style and no expense has been spared in achieving these objectives.   About the crew aboard Yacht Akasha
Your Crew:Harvey & Cara (4 crew total)
Description:

Captain:
Harvey Rogers (born 1973) from Gloucestershire, England, has been a keen sailor from a young age. After achieving a bachelor degree in marketing Harvey managed restaurants, food export, and was an area manager in the retail sector before leaving the UK to follow a passion for the Ocean. Teaching diving and sailing led Harvey through Thailand, Egypt, The Maldives, Bermuda and to the Eastern Caribbean where he and Cara decided to combine their loves of sailing, cuisine and diving to become a professional captain and chef team. Harvey is a fully qualified MCA/RYA Ocean Master.

Chef:
Cara Lillis-James, (born 1984) also from England, completed a Performing arts Degree in London followed by an English teaching qualification in Egypt. She left England for sunnier surroundings and pursued a career in diving in Thailand where she met Harvey. They have been working side by side for the past five years.

Cara pursued a culinary career, training at Ashburton School of cookery and the prestigious Ritz Hotel in Paris. Her passion for originality, combined with French training, produces astounding culinary masterpieces. Her combined loves for the water and the culinary world make her an ideal yacht chef.

Harvey's calm and competent attitude makes for very relaxed sailing, and he is complimented perfectly by Cara's overt and gregarious nature. Harvey and Cara's years of experience in providing superb customer service ensure unforgettable memories, and a truly exceptional Caribbean yacht charter experience.

1st Mate:
Carl Coetzee started to follow his dreams as a freelance photographer for a local South African extreme sports magazine. Shortly after completing the Scuba Diving Open Water course his passion for photography followed him into the water. After a year of diving in the Cayman Islands every day he returned to South Africa to qualify as a Master Scuba Trainer. CJ subsequently joined a team of underwater filmmakers in Mozambique, and was fortunate enough to spend 6 months working on an educational documentary about over-fishing and the Shark Fin industry in Mozambique waters.

After completing Coastal Skippers course in Cape Town he left the Africa to work in the yachting industry in the Mediterranean, following which he ran a diving center in the South Pacific.

CJ continues to travel the world whist following his passion, his work now published in African Geographic, BBC, Scientific journals, multiple diving books and magazines.

Hostess:
Kim van Eyk, also hailing from South Africa. Fuelled by adrenalin sports, Kim enjoys sailing, scuba diving and sky diving. After graduating Kim decided to travel, working as a Dive Instructor in Mozambique, and later in the beautiful Pacific Islands where she lived in and amongst rainforest, volcanoes and waterfalls.

Before jet setting she completed her RYA Coastal Skippers from Cape Town, which started her career in the yachting industry and has gained valuable experience working as stewardess on high-end luxury motor yachts. A trained massage therapist, Kim can relax and ease all your tensions with a Swedish massage.
